A Light-Hearted Short Story About Being Wild – Tokyo

Updated: Feb 24, 2023

BORN TO BE WILD

“I’m wild, love to be wild, actually born to be wild 😂 I love to be crazy, run as fast as I can, play, and if I have the possibility try to catch animals 😼” - Tokyo

LA CASA DE PAPEL AT HOME…

Have you ever seen on Netflix the Spanish thriller series La Casa de Papel (Money Heist)? It features a fictional character named Tokyo and is portrayed by Úrsula Corberó. She is the de facto protagonist of the series. Tokyo is an unreliable narrator and a runaway robber who is recruited by the Professor to participate in his heists.

La Casa de Papel has attracted many fans throughout the years. This is the case of the pawrents of Tokyo-the-cat, who named their furry pal after their favourite character on the show. Destiny or chance? Unclear, but Tokyo’s pawrents vouch for the similarities between their cat and the character of the series. They are both feisty, curious and brave, and above all, they love well-earned prey.

HUNTER IN HEART

We asked Tokyo: which animals do you like to hunt? Did your cat pawrents create a trophy wall with skulls?

Since Tokyo is a sassy little kitten, of course she was not interested in answering our question. Her cat pawrent amusingly replied to us:

“Oh she likes to hunt everything 😂 Not just animals, but everything 😂 I’ll send few pics”

UNLUCKY LIZARD

What do you think, is it a toy? Is it? Or did the lizard lose his tail to Tokyo?

EVERY CAT MOMENT ANY TIME

Since Tokyo was playing around and not paying attention to us, we kept talking to her pawrent. We wanted to find out what the most beautiful thing that they and Tokyo have experienced together. Her cat pawrent answered:

“I don’t know, actually every moment with Tokyo is unique and beautiful. I love how aggressive she is, and at the same time I love how cute she is when she wants to be cute. I love it when she comes to bed and roar for cuddle, and lick my hands and face hahaha!”

LITTLE MONSTERS FROM PIEMONTE

Tokyo lives near Lake Orta in the Piemonte area, northern Italy. Her cat pawrents got her through a friend who had a mother cat with six kittens. Her siblings live now somewhere else and are taken good care of by other nice pawrents.

TOKYO’S SHOUT OUT

Our final question to Tokyo’s pawrents was: what message would Tokyo have for other cats? Tokyo now jumped in and meowed:

“Be wild and nice, and everything will be on your side 😁 That’s the best advice!”
