Cats are known as independent animals. They can clean themselves, make themselves comfortable and manage many of their needs without relying on humans. However, once they get affectionate they will be more needy and cuddly.

That’s why cats are born to be cuddled, just like a baby. Unfortunately, some cat people don’t really know how to get a proper cuddle from their fluffy babies. No worries, we got you! Here are some ways to make your cat more cuddly.

Understanding the Cat

To stand a chance for cuddle moments with your beloved cat, you need to understand them deeply on some level. Every cat has a different personality and attitude. Usually, their personality comes from their early experience in life and environment.

You can start understanding the cat from what they like and dislikes, observing their body language, and respect their boundaries. The key is to be patient through them. Do the small approach, pet them gently, and get to know them more to create a strong connection with each other.

Playful Interactions

Cats are nature born hunter animals. They like to play and move a lot, that’s why some playful interactions are needed. For example; petting them gently, mimicking their meows/birds/mice, and using toys like laser pointers/ropes/balls.

Playing with cats not only helps them distribute the energy, but it also helps to create a strong bond and trust. So that encourages your cat to be one step away to be more cuddly.

Build a Safe Place for the Cat

Similar to other living beings, cats will be more open to you once they know they are safe with you. It also encourages them to give you more cuddles when you guys are together.

Cats love cozy and warm places. You can start by arranging a blanket in the place where they usually settle down. Put some small toys and catnip around. Let them settle in and slowly give them a little attention while they relax. Once you are done they’ll be seeking more attention then come to you closely for a cuddle or just the comfort of it.
