Blacky is a dumped one year young male cat, who was found in Ajman, United Arab Emirates (UAE) by Khadija.
From the look of it, he sadly used to have a family in the past, He was dumped and neglected for a long time, while suffering alone in the streets of Ajman. Luckily Khadija found him and took him to the vet, who diagnosed Blacky with FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), anemia and a severe eye infection.
To correct the damage of Blacky’s right eye and vision, he underwent a major eye surgery. It pertained a corneal transplantation, also known as corneal grafting, a surgical procedure where a damaged or diseased cornea is replaced by donated corneal tissue.
At the same time, Blacky’s left eye also just started to develop the same infection. A surgery was required to remove this infection and prevent it from spreading.
Blacky now can see with both eyes. One last surgery is scheduled for next month to fix his eyelid.
Despite the fact that Blacky’s medical condition was, and still is a bit, quite unfortunate, he is actually a super happy, friendly, quiet, gentle and sweet male feline. He goes very well with other cats and even dogs.
