Meet Feline Ferrari Lover Luce: Cruising in a Classic Purrari 412

Cats in Cars, Keep ‘m Coming!

At CatSwoppr, our eyes are always on cats—whether we’re spotting them on the streets or scrolling endlessly through our Insta feed. And recently, we’ve noticed a particularly delightful niche: cats cruising in cars. Not just any cars, mind you—these feline chauffeurs are living large. We’ve seen:

But one thing was missing... a cat in a vintage Purrari 412. Well, until now. Meet the legend himself: Luce the Persian Cat. Let’s hear his story.

Hey There, Luce Here from France!

I’m Luce, a rare cream Persian adventure cat based between Paris and Annecy in the French Alps. I was born just before midnight on August 1, 2024.

My best buddy in the world is my big brother, Graçias—a 10-year-old, 14.5-pound ragdoll-mainecoon-ish mix. He’s wise, calm, and constantly grooming me. I call him Captain Carwash. He keeps my floof polished like a pro, and honestly, I think he’s a little obsessed with me.

Waltzing into the Lives of my Hu-mon, Catdad and Cat Bro Graçias

My Catdad and Hu-mom discovered a photo of me online. As soon as they found out I was born just 45 minutes from Annecy, they dropped everything to meet me. I gave them my best charm offensive—curious, playful, and food-loving—and it worked like a charm.

Truth is, they needed me. Nine months earlier, they lost my angel-fur-sister Franny, a regal and delightfully grumpy Persian queen. She passed away at just 10 years old from liver cancer. My family was heartbroken. When I came along, I brought light and laughter back into their world.

Being a Playful Go-Getter on the Move

I’m a total goofball—full of energy and always up for an adventure. I also love food. No, really. I would eat 24/7 if allowed. But adventure? That’s where I come alive. I’m unfazed by noise, crowds, or new places. I thrive in motion—biking, boating, driving, hiking. I’m always ready to go. The second I see my leash or backpack, I jump right in.

Here’s my secret: I fetch. Balls, sticks, you name it. I’m a self-declared ‘catdog’. I carry my favourite ball in my mouth like a trophy and sometimes play so hard I pant like a pup. Other top activities include climbing trees, hunting bugs, smelling flowers, inspecting drains, and napping. Oh—and I have a bizarre love for churches. The old, stone, incense-smelling kind. I insist on checking every one we pass. Twice.

As for treats, I’m a carnivore connoisseur: mortadella, tuna, veal, steak, crunchy snacks, juicy wet food—if it’s meat, I’m in.

Driving a Purrari 412 from 1986 – Cream Color Matching

I'm all about style, so classic Italian cars are totally my thing. Driving through Paris in a black 1986 Ferrari 412? Purrfection. I love the comfort, the space, and the panoramic views I get from the dash and rear deck. The buttercream leather interior matches my cream floof like it was made for me. Naps on the back seat? Sublime.

And yes—I like going fast. Really fast. There’s something about the wind in my floof and covering long distances that just lights me up. I even get frustrated when Slo-mom doesn't pedal the bike fast enough. I live for speed.

I do miss my mountain roots when we’re in the city. That’s why forest hikes and bike rides through Versailles feel so special. One time, we were stuck in traffic after a big event, and people kept spotting me. “Look! A cat in a Ferrari!” It was hilarious. I love any kind of travel—cars, trains, planes. Though airports are my favourite: so many smells, so many friendly people to smick.

Graçias travels too, but he prefers staying home in his garden. He’s more of a staycation kind of guy.

Living Fully: Because Time Is Precious

As much as I enjoy being silly, life took a serious turn in February 2025. I was diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), once considered untreatable and fatal. My pawrents were crushed. They had already experienced deep loss, and the idea of losing me was unbearable. But they moved fast, got me cutting-edge treatment, and now I’m healthy and thriving. Still, it was a wake-up call.

That’s why we live each day to the fullest now—more joy, more love, more silliness. Every moment counts.

If my pawrents could share one message, it’s this: be ultra observant with your cats. We hide our symptoms well, and subtle changes—like being less playful, sleeping more, or not going crazy for treats—can be early signs that something’s wrong. Don’t wait. Act fast. It could save our lives.
