Hi, I'm Noortje

Hello! My name is Noortje, and my age is still a little mystery. Before I found my forever home, I was discovered on an industrial estate and taken to an animal shelter. Nobody knew where I came from or exactly how old I was. But sometimes the best stories don't begin with all the answers—they begin with a second chance.

Today, I live a wonderful life in the Netherlands with my loving cat parents, where I can truly be myself.

The Day Everything Changed

On January 28th, 2023, my life changed forever.

The moment my cat parents met me, we instantly connected. I showed them right away that I was affectionate, gentle, and incredibly social. They fell in love with me immediately, and I felt safe with them from the very beginning. It was as if we were always meant to find each other.

A Soft Heart with a Curious Mind

I'm a sweet, gentle, and affectionate cat who loves being close to my humans. Whether we're cuddling on the sofa or simply spending quiet time together, I'm happiest when we're near each other.

But don't let my calm personality fool you—I also have a curious and clever side! I love discovering new things and creating little games for myself. Exploring, learning, and solving puzzles are some of my favourite ways to stay entertained. And after all that excitement? You'll usually find me curled up in the warmest, cosiest spot in the house.

Beauty Starts with Love

People often compliment my beautiful fur, but the secret isn't really a secret at all. It's the result of lots of love, good care, enough rest, and of course, my own grooming routine. After all, every lady likes to look her best!

Treat Hunter Extraordinaire

One of my absolute favourite activities is searching for treats.

My cat parents sometimes hide little treats underneath cups or containers, turning snack time into a fun puzzle. Because I'm naturally curious, I quickly figured out how to find them—and now I'm actually very good at it! They even call me super smart. I think they're right... don't you?

Adventures Beyond the Living Room

Every now and then, I join my cat parents for a car ride. At first, I thought it was a little scary, but now I've become much more comfortable. I enjoy watching the world go by, especially when my favourite humans are close.

Sometimes I even go on little walks wearing my harness. Safely exploring new places and sniffing interesting scents is exciting, although I still find it a bit adventurous. I'm getting braver one step at a time.

Love Can Heal

Not long after I was adopted, my family discovered that I was very sick.

While I was living with other cats before my adoption, I had hidden how unwell I really felt. But once I finally felt safe in my new home, my body relaxed, and my illness became visible. That's when my cat parents learned that I had feline respiratory disease.

They never gave up on me. With endless love, patience, care, and support from the whole family, I slowly recovered. Their dedication gave me the chance to become the happy, healthy cat I am today.

My Message to Every Cat Parent

If there's one thing I've learned, it's that love truly changes lives.

Cats with difficult beginnings deserve the same chance at happiness as every other cat. With patience, understanding, and proper care, we can blossom into confident, loving companions.

So if you're caring for a cat who's struggling, please don't give up too quickly. Sometimes healing takes time, but love really can work wonders.
