Diego and Humphrey’s Journey: Two Hearts One World

Meow Everyone!

We are Diego and Humphrey, two gentle, resilient and loving cats with rough pasts from Brisbane, Australia. Once we did not have a cozy and safe home, but one day our life had changed all over. We were adopted by our humans!

Diego, is the calm one in our duo. He loves to eat, sleep, and move through life at his own pace as he gets older, he does not rush joy, he settles into it, and me, Humphrey, as an orange cat I am full of energy, curiosity and enough mischief to keep everyone alert. I love to explore everything and when I arrive everyone knows.

Harsh Life Before Home

Diego’s journey began in 2015. He was sold for $50 out of the boot of someone’s car at a service station. As I understood, he was said to be eight weeks old, but actually he was only five. Diego says those times were very terryfiying. He was tiny, underweight and covered in fleas due to his poor living conditions. When our humans found him they took him to the vet immediately.

My story began on the streets. I was scared and lonely, I did not know where to go or what to do. I was found with my two sisters and my humans adopted me through somewhere they called Animal Rescue League. When I was found I was only eight years old, and after I joined my forever home, I ruled the home with mischief and my endless energy.

Our adoption changed everything. Our biggest worry, which was getting no ones attention when we needed help or even if we disappeared. We were confused and lonely. Now, we are 10 and 3, we are happy and sound, we are not scared anymore and we are able to show our real characters without any worries!

However, we are still have this stray behavior in us, which we cannot rid of. For example, we eat very fast, and stay quiet to listen for danger even there is no danger.

Home Life and Adopting

We are happy and peaceful  in our forever home, we have full bellies, and we enjoy our warm naps. We know that we are not broken or “too much.” We are just coutious hearts who are learning that it is okay to trust again, and we want to everybody know this who prejudges stay cats or considers to adopt one. And we are thankful for our pawrents for choosing us, and for turning survival into love.
