Every rescued cat has a story. Some begin quietly. Others begin on the street, in places where no one knows how the story will end. Abril and Mayo had two very different beginnings. But eventually, their stories would cross paths and take them on the same journey — from Spain to Germany. Abril: rescued in Ceuta Abril was rescued from the streets of Ceuta and taken to a local shelter. When she was taken in to be spayed, something unexpected was discovered: she was pregnant. He

He looked a little unsure of his surroundings, but his bright eyes and warm orange fur immediately caught his parent’s attention. At first, he was simply a little cat who had appeared out o

A Little Treasure Named Debao When Debao first came home in Guizhou, China, his pawrents wanted to give him a name that reflected how special he was. Since he was a little tabby cat and his coat was not easy to describe with a simple colour-based name, she thought of him as a “treasure” that had come into the family. That is how he got the name Debao, meaning “a precious treasure.” The Most Sociable Cat in the Room She first met Debao at a cat shop. While many of the other ca

There is something truly special about a Sacred Birman. Maybe it is the striking blue eyes, the beautiful white gloves, or perhaps it is simply their gentle and affectionate nature. Since we last spoke with LUNI in 2023, the organization has continued its mission of helping cats in the community. While some things have changed, their commitment to improving the lives of street cats remains as strong as ever. LUNI (Love the Unwanted, Neglected & Ill-Treated!) applied for charity status and received in-principle approval as of April 2026. The organization continues to provide medical care, support feeders who are on the ground feeding community cats, carry

Dumpling is a six-month-old Chinese field cat (tiányuán māo, 田园猫) from Guizhou, China. Although he shares his name with another furry friend (Jiaozi), his personality and story are uniquely his own. Meet Jiaozi Jiaozi is a two-year-and-nine-month-old male Devon Rex, a breed known for its soft curly coat and playful personality. His unique black-and-white markings make him stand out—his back is almost entirely black except for a small white patch in the middle, while his front legs are white and his hind legs are black, giving him the appearance of wearing mismatched little socks. Energetic, affectionate, and incredibly people-oriented, Jiaozi loves spending time with his

I’m just a cat and life is a nightmare. That’s the line you’ll find on my Instagram, and honestly, it sums me up pretty well. I’m Emo, a silly Siberian boy living in Edinburgh, Scotland, and this is my story. How I came to my humans My parents are Robert and Leni. My dad is Scottish, my mum is Greek, and they picked me up from a family in the Scottish Borders when I was five months old. Apparently, naming me was a whole debate. My mum wanted to choose silly names, my dad want

Hi, I'm Noortje Hello! My name is Noortje, and my age is still a little mystery. Before I found my forever home, I was discovered on an industrial estate and taken to an animal shelter. Nobody knew where I came from or exactly how old I was. But sometimes the best stories don't begin with all the answers—they begin with a second chance. Today, I live a wonderful life in the Netherlands with my loving cat parents, where I can truly be myself. The Day Everything Changed On Janu

A look at how we think about AI — and what we actually do with it. AI has been all over the news lately. Companies like OpenAI and Anthropic are racing toward public markets at near-trillion-dollar valuations. OpenAI has confidentially filed for an IPO targeting a valuation of up to $1 trillion, while Anthropic — maker of Claude — recently closed a $65 billion funding round at a $965 billion valuation and filed its own IPO paperwork shortly after. Meanwhile, Alphabet has be

How did you get started and what do you do for the cats in your area? My name is Claudia. Nine years ago I moved to the Colegiales neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, very close to some railway tracks where cat colonies tend to form. Cats end up there mainly because people don't adopt responsibly, let their pets roam outside without sterilising them, and one day the cat doesn't come back home. It follows its instincts and ends up in these open spaces. That's where the reproduction

What started as a passionate street cat welfare initiative has grown into one of the most impactful animal rescue and sterilisation programs in Indonesia’s Gili Islands. Since we first connected with LUNI (Love the Unwanted, Neglected & Ill-Treated!) Lombok, their mission has expanded tremendously — and so has the number of animals they are helping every single day. LUNI Lombok opened three years ago on Gili Trawangan, alongside a second smaller practice on Gili Air which ope

Ernie (†) didn't wait to be rescued: he chose his family himself. He appeared under a parked car in Vallejo, California. Tiny, feral, thin, full of fleas. Irene Wong and Ernie's human father Joe Zwetsloot thought he belonged to a neighbor. He didn't. They brought him back up the street. The next day, he was at their door again. And that was it. "It is the most strong bond between an animal and a human that I've ever seen," Irene said. What followed was 13 years of road trips,

Endang from Medan, Indonesia, never planned to run a rescue. She helped one abandoned cat. Then another. Showing up, even when it’s hard. You don’t have to live nearby to help: following her, sharing her story, or donating food, supplies, or funds helps keep her work going. You can also follow

She’s part of a network of people who simply

At Global Cat PR Agency CatSwoppr, we love sharing stories that show the special bond between cats and their humans. This is the story of Milton Biscuit, as told by his pawrents in Dublin, Ireland. Milton Biscuit Sometimes cats come to you through your subconscious mind. You may be unaware of their presence in your life until one day they come up to you in person and you suddenly realize that “This is what I have been waiting for”. That was how Milton came to our family, u

In Eskişehir, Turkey, a small street cat is sitting in a clinic cage, waiting. Her name is Zeytin. She has been diagnosed with wet FIP. Without treatment, this disease is almost always fatal. With treatment, she has a chance. But right now, that chance is slipping away. Not Her Cat — Still Her Responsibility Zeytin doesn’t belong to anyone. She’s a street cat. But when she got sick, one person chose not to walk away. Narsis Omidvar stepped in. No organization. No funding. No

She never went looking for a family. The family just kept showing up at her door. One at a time. Unannounced. Each one a little more determined than the last. Catrina. The one who decided on a Saturday. Catrina was the first, and she arrived the way all the best things do: completely unexpected, on a random day in 2015, left at the entrance of a shop in Lima by someone who didn't leave a note. She was two weeks old. Small enough to fit in a palm. And she didn't want to eat. H

Behind every great cat product, there’s often a deeply personal story — and Purrlys® is no exception. We spoke with Janet, founder of Purrlys®, about her rescue cats, Coco and Paco, and how their health struggles led to the creation of a feline oral care solution grounded in science and compassion. From Coastal Australia to Cat Parenthood Janet lives in Stanwell Park, a tiny coastal village in New South Wales, about an hour south of Sydney. It’s there that she and her husband
